Colsterworth War Memorial Restoration Project


THE RESTORATION WAS COMPLETED ON 12th SEPTEMBER 2024


The newly restored Colsterworth War Memorial is now complete and open. There will be an official launch on 1st November 2024 at the War Memorial on the High Street, Colsterworth.
Colsterworth and District Parish Council and Colsterworth Festival of Remembrance (CFoR) will be celebrating the opening of restored Colsterworth War Memorial followed by a launch party attended by Cllr Caroline Hainsworth, Chairperson of Colsterworth and District Parish Council, Captain David Heath French, Chairperson of Colsterworth Festival of Remembrance and several other guests at the Colsterworth War Memorial, High Street, Colsterworth on Friday 1st November 2024.  
The restoration project was funded by a £29,026.48 grant from FCC Communities Foundation. 

Cllr Caroline Hainsworth (Chair to Colsterworth and District Parish Council) is delighted that the project is now finished and open to the public. 
She says: “The restoration project safeguards the War Memorial and preserves its historical significance for future generations. We are extremely grateful to FCC Communities Foundation for providing funding as we would not have been able to go ahead without its support.” 
Penny Horne, FCC Communities Foundation grant manager, says: “It’s wonderful to see something we have funded finally open and ready to make such a difference to the local people of Colsterworth. FCC Communities Foundation is always happy to consider grant applications for projects that benefit local communities, and this is a great example of what can be achieved.”
